No, can't do spam. My father in law gave my wife and me a big bucket of long life military rations just in case. I always keep meat in the freezer so I would grill that and I am buying a second propane tank for extra gas for the gas grill and I always keep at least one bag of good charcoal in the garage for the charcoal grill. If you have meat your OK.

When the tornados hit and we were without powe for 5 days I had 2 propane tanks for the grill and meat in the freezer. We had 3 lbs of cajun turkey and 3 loaves of bread, lots of coffee and I keep three 5 gallon cans of water under the house.
We cooked breakfast and dinner on the grill, kept coffee going, and simply sat on the deck until the power came back on. Read several books and played cards.
