re: How are you prepared for emergencies?

I'm pretty well prepared, including a lot of common sense. I have bottled water, a blanket, and a good flashlight in my car.

As I tried to leave my office yesterday to get my kids from school, common sense told me they were safe at the school and they wouldn't be left there alone. As I approached an intersection a block from my office, I saw 4 cars that had already slid off the road, and decided to turn around and keep myself safe. As long as my kids remained at the school, they would be safe. It sucked as a parent, but it was the best decision.
