I doubt my Hyundai Sonata could've handled it.

If you know how to drive in the snow it would have done fine. FWD is 90% as effective in snow as 4wd. As I said in the other thread I have lived in Ohio 3 times and north dakota. Best car in the snow I have owned was a 2006 Honda Accord. Couldnt get that thing loose. Clung to the road like a drowning cat. I had no problems today in my Fwd Escape. Course I also have snow rated a/ts. That's besides the point. Fwd in snow is fine, if you have experience. Experience doesn't really help with rear wheel drive. Every turn could be your last.

Learned that almost the hard way. I was getting around just fine in my fwd 2wd truck because it's big and heavy. Made a slow right turn from a dead stop at a stop sign, barely pressed the gas and spun 180 degrees around and ended up perfectly in the other lane. Decided it was a sign from God that I needed to head back instead try to turn back around

The couple Integra and Prelude I had, would do fine in up to 6-8" of snow. Got tougher with hills obviously, but I only got stuck once or twice in 12 years in Richmond, and I only ever drove FWD.
Now, once I did have to go up a hill in my neighborhood, in reverse to get out,but was fine afterwards.

I did 4 years in Kansas with a RWD Mustang, never got stuck and never had much of a problem. The wife came up and was scared shitless the first winter, but after I forced her to practice a bit in an open parking lot with her FWD, she enjoyed it. You just drive carefully and don't make any sudden moves. I did avoid certain hills after a snowstorm, but I figured that just came with the territory. Even though it wasn't as safe, I enjoyed driving in snow/ice with a RWD more than my wife's FWD Explorer. I was low to the ground and skidded around turns on purpose, fun as hell.
