You're not missing anything...at what point as an adult do you grasp that subfreezing temps and moisture lead to bad conditions? Do you really need the mayor or gov to tell you that the roads are hazardous? Its not like this storm was a surprise.

Several friends of mine got their kids early and went home. Of course, we're native Georgians and don't rely on some Yankee to advise us as to when we can get our kids or when the roads are unsafe....

Bingo.

I called in to work in the morning, yankee boss from Chicago was irritated.

He called me back at 1pm to say "Good Call, I left early and am stuck in traffic blah blah"

Georgians know.

On TV, I'm watching confused angry yankees. Georgia natives are at home talking about it on facebook, drinking coffee, and playing with their kids in the snow.
