Not true. All of the metro interstates were pre-treated. You are right about the inability to post-treat. Snow had jack shite to do with the traffic. It was just the x factor. The x factor could be anything, as JD alluded to.

they were definitely not pre-treated. There was absolutely no salt on any of the highways I was driving on this morning. And there was no salt on any of the interstates as I was leaving work. And as the governor and mayor just indicated, they had no idea that the storm would reach the city and the northern suburbs. They were caught off guard.

But in thinking about it, Atlanta is generally lucky when it comes to weather. No earthquakes, no real severe weather (you get a tornado every now and then), no hurricanes and the winters are generally mild. it definitely could be worse.

It was brine, not rock salt. You wouldn't have seen it.

GDOT was on the news this afternoon before the clusterfrick even happened, talking about the brine they sprayed down just like they do in Washington DC.

What you hear from Deal and Reed is just PR bullshite. They don't want to admit what JD was alluding to.

Let me ask you this Thomassssss,

How much more rock salt do you think would have prevented the noon clusterfrick in Atlanta today?

100 tons? 500 tons?

How many more snow plows did they need to scrape 3/4 of an inch of snow off the roads, that would have prevented the noon clusterfrick in Atlanta today?

10? 40? 100?

Bitch please.
