I know a good amount of Ole Miss students from AR & LA. That's true about 60-70% of the time. They either want to try something new or can't get into their state flagship. Few examples:

A friend from HS got into Arkansas but wanted to leave the state. He was in the top 20% in my HS & is doing well at Ole Miss. Business Admin major

There's a girl I know who got into LSU but was going to have to take remedial courses the summer before freshmen year who said F that. She ended up at Ole Miss studying Geological Engineering & is doing pretty damn good. I'd assume over a 3.0 but if you would have told me she will be an Engineer I would of shite myself. Chick hates LSU with a passion

A friend a year below me who had either a 26-27 ACT in HS, went to Ole Miss, partied too hard, lost his scholarship, & parents made him come home.

Guy I know who is about to graduate from LSU is going to Ole Miss Law. Couldn't get into LSU & didn't want to go to Southern

By far the weirdest thing I notice is the fact that all of my Ole Miss friends will cheer for their state universities over Ole Miss 8/10 times. They might text me if Ole Miss gets a recruit we want but deep down it seems they couldn't give a shite about Ole Miss athletics. Seems like a 4 year "getaway" experience for them
