Let me rephrase that a bit. First AU started with the lead. Anyone that watched the game with maybe the exception of the 2nd qtr saw AU dominated the game. I was not referring to the kick 6 in the end. UA made a lot of mistakes that AU should have put UA away a lot earlier. I will concede the only reason Saban went for the FG was because he knew beating AU in over time was very slim.

So yes luck played a part in it because as bad as UA played in that game at least for 3 of the 4 quarters UA still had chances to win the game against a better team.
