The chechyans would end their cause if they pulled one here to try and embarrass the Russians. Go ahead and embarrass the Russians and see how the respond. Also see how it works when instead of the rest of the world trying to stop Russia, the rest of the world is egging them on to end your country.

EXACTLY. fricking with the US already ends poorly despite the litany of bureaucratic issues the US deals with and the ones they even skirt around. Piss off the Russkies and the only people Putin and co answer to is themselves.
And yea, man, the only thing stopping Russia from full on kicking their asses is the foreign backlash as they continue to buddy up with Eastern Europe and Germany. Attack the Olympics and you'll have the West giving them the thumbs up and give Putin a splendid opportunity to show off his nation's military might after it kinda looked weak when they went in to scare the ever-loving shite out of the Georgians. And I wouldn't blame them.
Hell, they're bringing back the Cossacks or at least I read that for the region to quell their peaceful muslim population in the Caucasus region. Last thing the Chechens need.
And I am still baffled at comparing Chechnya to the colonies.
