I am new to Alabama football - honestly not trolling - and would like to know more about the program from the fans' perspectives. Info past, present and predictions for the future will be appreciated. Thanks.

The most important answer will come from you. What is it that caused you to become an Alabama fan? As with Bucs I was a fan from birth and my first memories of Alabama football were watching with my dad or listening to John Forney on the radio.
A good way to start learning about All things Alabama might be to dig into this reading list.

Or watch the Bear Bryant Video series (6 parts beginning here.)

There have been a ton of books written about Alabama football.
If you want another outsider's perspective about what it means to be an Alabama fan, you should try Eli Gold's book Crimson Nation.

The 1999 Iron bowl made me a BAMA fan. Fort Benning Georgia was/is littered with more Sidewalk Auburn fans than you can count. and I got tired of hearing about the orange and blue so I took the opposite side during the weeks leading into the game. I have been stuck ever since. My fandom even affected my post-military career choice and I love working here.

I can't say that I was born a Bama fan, but fell in love with them when I was 4 b/c of my Aunt. She and my Uncle were huge fans and took me to several games, made sure I had the best Bama shirts and took me a few times to meet Bear and a few of the players...wish I still had the pictures and signed footballs and helmets...I was a major idiot in my younger years and sold and/or lost some of them.
Major Ogilvie and Jeremiah Castille will probably always be my most favorite Crimson Tiders. Those teams in the 70s were so much fun to watch; the punishers on D, the old Wishbone offenses, the tear-away jerseys, the Iron Bowls at Legion Field, and getting to watch The Bear walk the sideline.
Bama has and will always be known for our "beat you to a pulp" defenses and hard nosed offenses in my mind. I live, breath and die by our punishing defense however. I am very thankful to have been blessed to have seen more than my share of Bama National Championships.
