Just started the other day and I'm loosely following the diet plan(I don't feel like spending $400 at the store.) How much drinking do I have to cut out to see results? Since I pulled in the reigns a little I tend to drink 2-3 nights a week, and either rum or whiskey. If drinking that amount is going to negate everything else then I'll cut back a good bit.

I'd think that wouldn't affect it too much but I'd be safe and not drink more than twice a week.

I tend to drink Sailor Jerry's & Coke Zero, or Rye Whiskey with a couple cubes of ice or coke zero. Neither which I feel are too taxing.

Yeah as long as you are mixing it with water or a diet drink then it shouldn't hurt your progress too much.

I've done P90X a few times and drink a fair amount.

You'll be happy with your results.

Just go as hard as you can and live your life.

ETA: Since you mentioned the diet plan, I'll address that, too. Never even looked at it. No idea what it suggests. I just ate healthy, which doesn't take a brainiac.

You probably really don't need to cut that much out. If you were drinking beer it would be different.

Basically I'm eating eggs, turkey burgers, assorted vegetables, chicken breasts, and fish. It's fairly easy to follow, the drinking is what worried me.

I remember some tools that I knew in college that would hit a cycle around February to get ready for spring break.

I haven't worked out much since HS ended. I'm only 168 but not much definition, or good shape I guess.

Your average mixed drink (1.5oz liquor) is going to have roughly 100 calories if you're mixing with water or a diet drink.

My drinking slowed down a little the longer I worked out, because I looked at every drink as another 10-20 minutes of arse busting work. But just a little.

That's a good way to look at it.

Yeah, if you're just drinking straight liquor a couple nights a week, with that diet, you should be fine.

You're not fat to begin with then.

Never hurts to work out, but I wouldn't be super concerned with the liquor when you're eating as healthy as you are considering your height and weight.

I just watched Lone Survivor and I feel like a fat slob after seeing Navy Seals run around for 2 hours.
