Or what if you go to the school expecting the coaches to train you to make it to the nfl and you dont, should you hold the school accountable then? Its a risk taken by both sides, thats why they should get paid in college b/c the future is never certain. All that is certain is that they are making millions right now for the school, while they get chump change. Thats why they should get more financial compensation other than room and board and tuition, which isnt shite to the football player.

I think you've blown right past the larger point: They're there as a STUDENT athlete, first and foremost. The school is providing them with an education whether the player gets drafted or not. If the kid's too fricking obtuse to make the most of that overarching benefit, then I don't have the slightest bit of sympathy for their rock star ambitions. That education that so many scholarship players gloss right over is their best insurance against vanishing into obscurity if their numbers don't come up in the NFL lottery.
