Unless Richt and McGarity sit down and start talking longterm (like after Richt is gone) and determine that the right move is to go ahead and peg Kirby as Richt's heir, it will not happen.

I agree with this. he turned us down before because Saban told him to stay put unless he got a HC job. Why take a lateral move? He's got it made in Alabama. Almost guaranteed success as a program and that translates to him looking good.

Things have changed in Alabama and he might not like the changes. but I would be surprised if Smart takes a lateral move for essentially the same money and no promise of a step up when Richt leaves. It just doesn't make sense.

People are about to find out that everybody is no breaking down the doors to come to Georgia.
