re: SECrOTB Book Club: I need a good book to read

Late to this thread but English was one of my majors, I read some pretty good books in undergrad I had never heard of growing up.

Nobody really suggested any short story collections, but I get a kick out of them because it's easier to read them when youre busy.

Larry Brown "big bad love"
Lewis Nordan "music of the swamp"
Denis Johnson "Jesus' Son"

Ole miss prof Tom Franklin's book "crooked letter, crooked letter" is a good mystery novel you might like.

Another good cormac McCarthy is "the crossing"
