Not going through all the pages to see if its been suggested but anything by Brad Thor. If spy/terrorism isn't your thing Patrick Rothfuss The Name of The Wind and The Wise Man's Fear are good. Also Lee Child's Jack Reacher series are pretty good as are James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux series.

Pretty much a copy of mine. That's what happens when you don't read the thread.

But I'll say it again. King killer Chronicles by Patrick Routhfuss is outstanding. I'm more interested in how it ends than a SOIAF at this point.
