We haven't had a great history with guys playing baseball and football. Jeff Granger was stellar as a starting pitcher. He was the best pitcher that I ever seen at A&M (going back to 1991). Greg Porter did it too but really underachieved as a baseball player.

Jordan Chambless started off his 2005 freshman season like he was going to be one of the great relief pitchers in program history. I've never seen another freshman with as devastating a curve ball as him. Six weeks into the season, he left the team for spring football workouts (which pissed me off to no end, but he was on a football scholly). He jammed a finger on his pitching hand in football practice and didn't tell anyone on the baseball staff. He was never the same pitcher again. He made some kind of compensation for the pain which wrecked his delivery and ended his 2005 season. He was never able to get his delivery back.

2005 32.0 innings with a 2.25 ERA
2006 26.2 innings with a 4.39 ERA
2007 9.2 innings
2008 3.2 innings
