any and all suggestions would be appreciated. And "go get a flu shot" will probably be the first post..

Drink Bourbon. That cures everything... except for a vicious tongue bite.

Do you have a fever?
Have you had symptoms for less than two days?

If you answered yes to the first question, then you probably have the flu. If you answered yes to the second, you have time to use Tamiflu. It will dramatically reduce your down time.

If it's been more than two days since you noticed symptoms, then you're going to be laid up for quite a while. Rest, lots of liquids and patience are about all you can do.

Alcohol won't help if you really have the flu. The flu has been bad this year. I would just bite the bullet and go to the doctor.

3 bottles of NyQuil and when you wake up 3 more. Repeat until you feel normal or get a hangover whichever comes 1st

My cocktails for those days. A couple of hours between each stage

I start the day with an emergen-C followed by day quil.

About an hour later I do an alkaseltzer followed by the bourbon and honey mixture.

Tamiflu

Alkaseltzer.

DayQuil and bourbon mix

Tamiflu

Alkaseltzer and NyQuil.

I'm sure the surgeon general doesn't appreciate that but I've beaten the flu keeping me down with that mixture numerous times.

Today's my eighth day since symptoms began. Aches, fever, & chills have subsided, but now I have bronchitis as a result of the flu. Coughing pretty much incessantly.

As someone else posted, get tamiflu if it's been no longer than 48 hours since onset of symptoms. If it's been longer than 2 days, get Alka-Seltzer Plus-D. It covers all flu symptoms & helped me the most. I had to get it from behind the counter at Walgreen's and show & scan ID, though. Frickin meth heads.

Now let that be a lesson to all of you no flu shot getting MFrs. But the only relief if you are not smart enough to go get the flu shot is whiskey and lots of it.

i drink a half gallon of OJ right off the bat and take 5000 mg of chewable vitamin C / day for 2 days - followed by more OJ. Nyquil for sleeping and congestion.

Not a home remedy, but last time I had the flu my doctor hooked me up with some of the good sizzurp(Tussionex I think), so I just drank that and lied in bed for 4 days.

Cure All Cajun Remedy:

-drink 32 ounces of water
-eat 1 apple
-1 shot moonshine (everclear or 100 proof bourbon can do)
-3 Unisoms to sleep through what you're about to read (avoid Acetaminophen)
-Turn heat in the house up to 76
-Sleep in sweatpants and sweatshirt underneath all the covers.

Sweat your arse off all night, but you won't wake up because of liquor and unisom. You will wake up a new person.
