8-9 if I were to answer assuming expanding to 14 was an absolute necessity.

A 0 if staying at 12 is the alternative.

The 14 team league is a massive cluster-F and has just been addition for addition's sake.

Next year, the SEC, ACC, and Big 10 will all have 14 teams. Whether you agree it was a "necessity" or not, the fact is, college football is heading toward 4 or 5 major conferences of 14 (probably 16) teams each. Having said that, what combination of two teams would you rather have?
