In fairness, one of those was vs Auburn who made our pretty good defense look awful too.

Looks like the defense gave up 73, right? Not that 73 is really any better, but still.

I wouldn't be surprised if we some serious philosophy changes in the offseason. Our inability to get pressure with just our D linemen is killing us against the HUNH.

34+45=79 last time I checked (not 83). point still stands but dodd (and the OP) should have caught that.

Well at least 14 of those points (plus another 7 as a result of an offensive turnover) were scored when the defense wasn't even on the field. How is that Saban/Smart's fault with regards to defense?

It is a surprising stat for sure. Give AU and OU some credit because Alabama did play well defensively for most of the season.
