It's their house/facility.
Why shouldn't they be allowed to make requests of visitors?
Sometimes trying to look rebellious (e.g."telling us what to do!") just makes you appear ill-bred and ill-mannered.

They can make all the requests they want. And those palm trees won't get rolled anyways because they're 100 feet up. But all those trees on the golf course by the stadium?
