Personally hoping he's talking about the seniors. I'd be shocked if he already made a decision. Isn't there a process for players to get an idea of where they'll be drafted after all the bowls are over or am I thinking of basketball?

He suffered a traumatic knee injury. He doesn't want to risk another one ruining his chance at the NFL, therefore he's leaving now to be safe. Smart move

Has he announced this? I would assume he's talking about the seniors.

If he's a draftable commodity, yes.

If not, his diploma and near legendary status in the state of Missouri is worth more financially, IMO.

He talked about coming back next year in an interview, so he may just be referring to current team.

Or he may mean "goodbye"

I hope you're right semo, that seems to make this most sense. He did come in with this senior class.

That's what I think. It would have been talked about by reporters by now if that was true.

Reedus

there is a process much like basketball. They will tell them what round they are projected to be drafted in.

Like I said before, the guy has a kid and has already suffered a near career ending injury. Would not be shocked at all if he went to the draft to try and get so many and provide for his family.

Murphy is Junior....so it's possible Josey is going to the draft. Sucks I was really hoping he was going to have a monster season next year.

Realistically though, I don't know if he has much value at the NFL at this point.

Small, he's got speed, but not blistering. Knee issues.

Will he be drafted?

If he is graded anywhere in the first 4 rds he should go. The injury he has come back from is to risky to not get paid if he can. He can always come back and get his degree.

Said he's still deciding. Good luck to Ealy and it sounds like Golden is coming back, at least.

Gotta love that quote.

I was worried about Golden. If he would have left our DE depth would have been absolute garbage. We're gonna be kind of thin as it is.

Golden and Ray are gonna be a brutal pass rush combo for offensive tackles to block, though. Gonna be fun.

Completely agree. He should do what's best for him. He's a great kid and has already given us plenty.

For what it's worth, Dave Matter and Joe Strauss said (yesterday afternoon on the radio) they think Josey will ultimately return. Reasons? He's too small at 5'8" and not developed enough as a pass catcher - which would have to be his likely niche in the NFL.

Plus, being brutally honest, he's viewed as damaged goods. A view (as they pointed out) he himself may share if fear or re-injury is the primary factor in leaving. He's too small to be a true feature back or special teamer and knee injuries drove a big NFL back like Marcus Lattimore to the 4th round. So he's likely a borderline draft commodity.

That said, coming off a 3 TD national spotlight his draft stock (if he has any) is probably at it's apex.

Regardless, he's already an MU legend so if he leaves you only wish him the best.

Agree. I just hope he isn't getting bad advice. Size and injuries really make me question if he goes in the first 4 rounds, if at all. Either way, love what he's not only been able to do for the University, but for himself. Really seems to be a quality individual.
