I wouldn't say "poorly" coached, but I'm still not sold on Haith. His offense consists primarily of just clear out and let someone go 1 on 1. Did it last year with Pressey and this year with Clarkson. Maybe it's good coaching because the players can't run an offense or maybe he just isn't strong with the x's and o's.

To be fair, while Clarkson has been relatively solid he's not Pressey. While Pressey had his TO issues he also opened a lot up in that offense. It's hard to run if your PG isn't able to facilitate it consistently.

It's not clear out and one on one though. It's high ball screen pick and rolls for the point guard to either take it to the hole, draw the D at the rim and dump it off to a big, or if a perimeter defender sags kick it out to a 3 point shooter. With Clarksons scoring and driving ability and Browns 3 point shooting I think that's just fine as an offense for our personnel. It's also more NBA-like so you can recruit by selling an NBA style offense.

Too many of our fans equate "good offense" with lots of passing and movement and "bad offense" with less. But a good offense is one that gets a good shot for the right player to shoot it. Our offense may not "move" as much but it gets our 3 best guys shots. Quin teams passed it around plenty then tended to chuck a wild contested shot. Clarkson is hard to stop when driving lane and our offense puts him in position to do that.
