Just like 2010? Auburn was maybe 5th or 6th most talented team in the SEC but they certainly over-achieved with great coaching and an insane amount of luck.

I wouldn't be surprised if Auburn loses 4-5 games a season over the next few years. The league is way too competitive.

In as much Tennessee was a fluke program, apparently.

Only if Tennessee losing for a decade straight is considered a fluke, then yes.

And this is the biggest failed flame attempt I've seen in a long time.. it failed like Tennessee's football program.

It fails like Cuonzo Martin.
It fails like Derek Dooley and Lane Kiffin.
It fails like pumpkin orange on a jersey.
It fails like the seating at Neyland Stadium.
It fails like Eric Berry's Heisman chances.
It fails like Pat Summitt's memory. (please forgive me)

Wrong board but yes.

3 fluke but deserved wins vs GA, Bama, and A&M for staying in them long enough to pull it off at the end.

A team of destiny if I've ever seen one. 2001 tOSU is the closest I've seen to it. Followed by 2010 Auburn

Yes, but that's not a huge indictment against Auburn.

Any champion in any sport in any year has to have quite a few breaks go their way. It's just the nature of sport, tbh.

Give Auburn credit for being in a position for those breaks to matter.

Every team that has played for a BCS has relied on luck to get there. Auburn certainly had some luck along the way, but they also put themselves in position to take advantage of that luck, and played some really good football along the way.

Can I answer that next year? Flukish without a doubt and that is not intended to be a knock against this team. Unranked going in, in the title game at the end. Would like to know what the Vegas odds were back then.

No.

They did get lucky.....A LOT. But, they were prepared and in the right place at the right time when opportunity presented itself. taking advantage of opportunities is not a fluke.

So according to you Auburn has middle of the road SEC talent but has a great first year coach and thus they're in the national championship game. So I guess with the same great coach and the offense returning in mass and even better recruiting, Auburn will do worse.

Okay.
