Compared to your state legislature. I'm assuming the students you know are a bit more informed on the subject compared to the old blue-hairs in the state government, and thus want to end prohibition.

A lot of our students leave the state because employment opportunities are scarce here especially in a majority of fields that Ole Miss specializes. Also the conservative attitude is firmly entrenched within my parents and grandparents age group and they are the only ones who vote consistently.
