I'll back up the TAMU kids. If you're going to go work at Home Depot as a mid level corporate manager, I agree Ole Miss, TAMU, UGA are roughly equivalent.
If you're going into higher end business consulting, law, medicine, top engineering or construction firms, there is definitely a difference between MSU and UF. More simply, for those in positions where prestige matters a little or more, they're usually going to be aware that TAMU or Texas or UNC are much better public schools than LSU or Oklahoma.
And correspondingly, there is an additional big gap for for professionals at McKinsey or Wachtell between TAMU and Stanford. The higher profile the gig, the more important the resume, as a general rule.
