Take home message? It won't happen. Culturally OU is midwestern rather than southern, but then again so are states like Missouri, Kentucky, and Florida so that isn't the barrier.

The Big 12 GOR makes it a financially unappealing prospect for OU. Even without the GOR Oklahoma State is probably tied to OU and the SEC has no interest in two new programs from a state the size of Oklahoma. There's nothing wrong with expanding into Oklahoma theoretically but it isn't as desirable as expanding into Virginia or North Carolina - both of which are also pretty much off limits because of GOR agreements in the ACC.

Even if you pretended that OU was free to leave for the SEC you'd have to bring in one more major program to even out the numbers between the two SEC divisions. Who would be the realistic second? Texas is the only other desirable program from teh Big 12 and they are not coming (even if they wanted to they might face significant SEC resistance from A&M, MU, and perhaps Arkansas)

I could see OU joining without OSU. then add an eastern team (NC State).

You can still keep your rivalry game ( UGA-Tech, UF-FSU).

UVA would be happy to get out of the ACC and away from VATech trust me, they can be stolen easy but still you are missing another school with them. NC State?

First of all , the other 4 major Confs have GORs, and with the new money in they WILL NOT fold or lose any current members. Why would you leave an easier path?

Second I go believe you will see a separation of The big 5 ,ND and BYU AND the smaller FBS schools at least for scheduling and governing purposes ie ( player incentives ) But I believe part of the deal will include an expansion of those Confs to 16 teams, to include the Boises and ECUs of the world.

All this will probably take place some where around the 3-4th year of the playoffs when there is a push to expand.

ALL of your A list guys are off the board, it's just won't happen, expansion targets are in the states of NC and VA. But it's not who you want.
