Sorry folks, if it offends you...

I have been in the field of music practically all my life, performing, teaching etc. Been gigging on guitar/trombone/vocals for over 30 years now.
I was in a very good college band program - played lead tbone in the jazz band, 1st chair in the symphonic band and marching band... not tooting my own horn (ha, pun intended) but just letting you know that I do have some experience in the area.

Swing March and William Tell doesn't do it for me anymore. And doesn't really seem to do it for the folks that sit around me. Plus the tempo at which they have to play the fight song at so they can march (pregame on field) to, it seems to kind of trudge along.

If y'all still dig it, that's great for y'all.

But I know that something better could be figured out.

ETA: For anyone that might know, who is the arranger of the version of The Star Spangled Banner they are doing now? Love it.

Wow. To me Swing March and Will Tell are the 2 most important songs after the fight song and alma mater. Pretty unique to our school. I agree the band needs to bump up the tempo like the band used to play. I don't care for the arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner tbh. I think Dr. Knighten arranged it IIRC
