SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The Fight Hunger Bowl will make history with two female officials this year.

The game between BYU and Washington on Dec. 27 in San Francisco will be called by a crew from Conference USA that includes Sarah Thomas as line judge and Maia Chaka as head linesman.

NCAA national coordinator of officials Rogers Redding says it is the first time two female officials have worked the same FBS game.

Thomas became the first female official in major college football in 2007 and the first to work a bowl game in 2009 at the Little Caesars Bowl.

Who cares as long as they perform their job well.

I mean, c'mon, they couldn't be any worse than most of the current zebras in college football...

The mistake is assigning 2 to the same game. One will get passive aggressive with the other, we'll start having conflicting calls, they'll refuse to huddle up and make a decision, it's going to be terrible.

They will break the first time a questionable call is made and 90,000 people start booing. Woman suck under pressure.

Meh.

Be in the right position and get the call right.

That is all I care.

May they both be trampled and may that den of inequity known as San Francisco fall-off into the Pacific Ocean midway through the first quarter of the game ... as long as Marcus Lattimore is home in SC for Christmas at the time.

As long as they are competent referees I don't see the problem here.

They are working 2 of the most difficult positions and it's not their first rodeo....they'll do fine.
