Has Gary Pinkel addressed this?

Why the hell was he using a 3 man front in the second half against a running team averaging 7 yards a carry?
What kind of fricked up formation was that and why did he think that would work?

He did it all year and it worked.

Give the guy a break.
His BAC was .23 before kickoff.

I get that he runs a 3-4 but to not creep up his backers?
Au was guaranteed a 5 yard carry by just going straight forward since it wass 5 on 3.

In fairness, what he needed was a 23-man front.

Did you really want him to adjust the D in such a way to give them a chance at victory? He gave AU the game with that garbage. I would have been furious had I given a shite about Mizzou.

It's supposed to clog up the middle and push everything outside, the three man front also gives more flexibility for reads on the option as well.
The D just got beat along the outside and wasn't able to tackle, the front wasn't what caused the D to get gashed, the inability to execute outside was the real killer.
If Danielson doesn't say anything it's not the talking point it has been since the game. The D just got gashed, we should have put a few more in the box late in the game, but it is what it is.

The theory was to have the 3 down linemen occupy the guards and center, and then allow your LB's to flow to the ball without getting caught up in trash. Obviously it didn't work out.

I agree with you. To start the second half they used a 4 man front with the Linebackers in the games on the first two drives. Slowed Auburn down. Then they went back to the 3 man front again and got torched. Not really sure the thinking behind it. Same issue came up a few years ago when we played Navy. It is something we will have to resolve if we ever want to win the conference because what is to stop any team from installing some concepts from Auburn when they play us?

From what I saw it looked like the LBs were creeped up into the gaps on the front many times in the second half.

low football IQs abound on the rant.
HERP DERP 3 MAN FRONT = PASS D HERP MOTHERfrickING DERP
no, denied. Let's refer to one of my previous posts from before the game.
The previous poster who talked about allowing the LBs better flow to the ball was correct. That 3-3 scheme was designed to stop runs up the middle, and guess what? It did. That look routinely stoned Mason for 1.5 or fewer yards at the LOS.
After halftime, we brought the LBs up to A&C, and that's when mason gained 182 yards between the tackles. Yeah, 182 between the tackles. Dismukes obliterated shane ray. End of story.
The problem was the failure of our d-line to win 1 on 1 assignments. All Auburn does is arithmetic and assignment football. They run it where you're not, and if your man can't beat his blocker, they run for well over a quarter mile on you.
In summary, the average rantard knows less about football than the goddamn ask madden feature and the sum of their knowledge = ESPN buzzwords.

Same reason A&M did it. Lack of D-Line depth.

True nuff. DL was Missouri's biggest strength. Rotating 7 or 8 guys.
