For those of is from Memphis feel free to add anything that I miss. If you have not been to Memphis or don't know the city that well I suggest you read here.

Do not go to the south side of the stadium as you will wind up in the ghetto know as orange mound. Tiger lane is a great place to tailgate that is on the west side of the stadium. Bars in the area are over at cooper-young area they include Celtic Crossing (Irish pub and I think the best bar in Memphis), young Ave deli ( they have great food and a shitload of beers on tap), alchamey for the older crowd who can afford to spend a litte more (great food here as well get the sliders and it's full of milfs)

You can probably scalp great seats for the game outside of the stadium

Generally speaking you can drink without worry around the liberty bowl as Memphis PD has real criminals to worry about.

I suggest for your New Years plans to go out in midtown because downtown and Beale street will be hell on earth.

WHAT NOT TO DO
1) do not leave valuable things out in your car because it will probably get broken into

2) don't give panhandlers money as they are all crackheads

3) if you do not know where you are don't stop and get out of your car just use GPS to go downtown or somewhere that probably won't get you robbed

Restaurants near the liberty bowl

Central BBQ
Young ave deli
Celtic crossing
Milan Asian bistro
Alchamey
Subway
McDonalds

Things to do with kids

Children's museum (next to liberty bowl)
Sun studios
The Memphis zoo
Memphis grizzlies game

Hail State and frick RICE

Don't get caught in South or North Memphis when the lights go out.

There are a lot of bars and eateries here and it's really close to the stadium ... hell it's walking distance IMO. Good place to set up shop if you don't want to do the whole "Downtown Memphis/Main Street/Beale Street" thing.

Would definitely recommend hanging around the Mid-Town/Cooper-Young area for the game.

Good luck Dawgs.

P.S. I'm still mad as hell and hate y'all fwiw ... but seriously

I'll have my 10 year old with me so I won't be doing any drinking. I'll be there the day before and staying until the day after the game. What are some of the must try restaurants we should try while there???

I'll be at the game with my girlfriend who is from Memphis. She insists on avoiding Midtown due to the recent number of shootings in the area.

We're going to a rooftop party at the Peabody.

We are going to do the Korean BBQ in Germantown for lunch. I lived in Asia for years, and it is hard to find good bulgogi and kalbi in MS.
