It isn't a debate whether there are more OU or Oregon alumni in Houston, TX, for example. It is OU hands down.
It is debatable as to which fan base travels stronger to New Orleans AND spends more money. The TV monies do nothing for economic impact for the City Of New Orleans, and the TV contracts have zero to do with the 2013 match-up.
If OU sells its allotment of Sugar Bowl tickets, I'll be surprised. I am also very curious to gauge Alabama's response to the Sugar Bowl. They had higher expectations.
If the Oregon fanbase response to the Alamo Bowl is lousy - in my opinion, it does not mean they would have had the same response to the Sugar Bowl.
