You know, not to get all non-ranty but I cant help but feel the difference. Our program was hated in the Big 12 universally. We were hated for having the nerve to stand up to the inequality led by Texas. The other schools hated us because we were "rocking the boat" when we decided to feel out our options when it came to conference affiliation. The power schools, OU/Texas, despised Mizzou because we stood up for our selves in direct conflict to their desires for the conference. Its saying something when 4 land grant, AAU institutions walk away from your organization in a couple of years.

I really feel great about this move to the SEC. I understand that some of the old school SEC fans may never accept us but many have been welcoming and there is a sense of respect, class and equality shared between the great institutions of the SEC as well as the fans. Thanks for having us. We are "home" now. This is home and I couldnt imagine it any other way.

Kilo, I don't think there will be a long term problem with y'all and A&M being accepted. It took South Carolina and Arkansas about ten years for folks to get used to them but now they are part of the fabric of the conference. It is just a matter of creating the habit of thinking about playing your squad. We've all been playing the same teams for generations, it just takes a while.
