The SEC: We really are different

...and it's not just because we play better football. We are a just different.
So last night after the SECCG. I decided to watch Sparty vs O$U. During their tropy presentation the commish comes out gives his spiel about the conference and then just like Slive did to celebrate Mizzou's accomplishment/effort asked for a round of applause for OSU. The SEC crowd gave an enormous roar of approval for Mizzou but what happened at the Big 10 presentation told me everything: instead of giving OSU a round of applause or a golf-clap they booed and booed loud and long enough to where it embarrassed their commish who dropped his head and said 'come on' to get the booing to stop.
If they hate each other so much they can't even win with a modicum of class no wonder they hate us too.
Hell it explains why they don't understand why ~90 percent of us will be cheering for Aubie and for any and all SEC team playing in a bowl. We have a brotherhood/sisterhood they have a collection of mercenaries out for themselves.
IOW, It's time to use it against them. Let the chants of SEC! SEC! SEC! begin.

I hate to tell you, Vol, but there is no way 90% of the conference will be cheering for AU.

Well said. I won't be cheering for Auburn for obvious reasons but I hope it's a well played game and not some slopfest. I will however be cheering for the Vols next year for the first time because yall are heading to Norman. I will never cheer for Big Game Bob and smug arse.

You know, not to get all non-ranty but I cant help but feel the difference. Our program was hated in the Big 12 universally. We were hated for having the nerve to stand up to the inequality led by Texas. The other schools hated us because we were "rocking the boat" when we decided to feel out our options when it came to conference affiliation. The power schools, OU/Texas, despised Mizzou because we stood up for our selves in direct conflict to their desires for the conference. Its saying something when 4 land grant, AAU institutions walk away from your organization in a couple of years.
I really feel great about this move to the SEC. I understand that some of the old school SEC fans may never accept us but many have been welcoming and there is a sense of respect, class and equality shared between the great institutions of the SEC as well as the fans. Thanks for having us. We are "home" now. This is home and I couldnt imagine it any other way.

No. I never have and I never will. We directly recruit against you frickers. Why would I want our direct competition to be more successful?

For god's sakes.
If Michigan fans ever rooted for Ohio State just because the B1G would make the BCS Title game - like Bama fans did Aubbie...
Now that would be a CFB tragedy...and really, it's not worthy of praise...this conference worship over school pride.

During conference play I hate the other SEC teams. But for OOC games and bowl games I pull for the conference hard. I come to know the players on the other teams throughout the year and have players I like on each team. I want these players to all do well. I won't ever chant "SEC, SEC, SEC...", but I pull for the SEC and everyone that knows me knows I pull for every SEC team when they're playing a non-SEC team.
