The Players don't seem as Inspired Anymore

I've noticed that if you go back and look at 2008 and 2009, it seems like Bama was more upstart and the players were more fired up than they have been of late. I wonder what could be done to change things a bit?

bullshite! These boys seemed to be more inspired than any team. They started off rocky, but the got better and better on both sides of the ball. To me, they seemed to peak after LSU. They seemed to relax and start going through the motions again like early on in the season. I appreciate this loss. They all can learn and grow from it.

Winning two MNC back to back will do that to a team. In 08 and 09 the road leading up to the MNC was just as exciting as winning it. That excitement tends to dimminish when you win it all year after year.

They just played flat. There were some weak links on the defense and offense and they were exposed. It happens. Doesn't mean anything for the future of the program or the bowl game.

nope, not even close. You're only saying this because of the loss. If we made the kick, made even one of the previous kicks or won in overtime, we'd be talking about their resilience in the face of adversity and catching none of the breaks.

We no longer have any player that came on board before we were a championship program. The players then had the goal of building. The current group have the goal of sustaining. It's so much easier to get excited when the program is on its way up. That target on our backs became an albatross. It eventually caught up with us yesterday.
That said, there is zero excuse for coming out as tight and scared as we did yesterday. For a program that has played on so many big stages and prides itself on getting the mental edge, yesterday was a pathetic showing of mental toughness from the start.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I don't buy that at all. The team plays hard. Take the Georgia game last year. It looked ugly at one point, and I thought we were on the verge of letting it get away from us, yet the team fought back and got in a position to win it. That doesn't scream "uninspired" to me.
