Really? I'm pretty sure USC never said anything themselves about Sumlin. Is this how all aggy folk tales get started? Sarkisian hire makes WAY more sense than the Sumlin hire. DWI.
ETA: What's your source that Sumlin was offered the job? Just curious. I don't need sources because I'm saying USC never even got that far. Makes no sense for them to not interview anyone else. Sumlin is not a slam dunk hire by any means. He still has plenty of questions.

Well, he's not the obvious choice that Sark is with his 34-29 record. If you think USC hired Sark without being told "no" by their first choice or two, via the backchannel avenues, then you're an unmitigated moron.
