But that was exactly AU's reason....they didn't feel like Birmingham was a neutral site which was complete B.S.

I am guess you were never at any of those games and are just talking out of your arse. There is a reason bama fought so hard to keep playing the IB in a shithole. They knew if they came to JH they would get their arse whipped for many years. Which is exactly what happened.

I can provide some links to columnists written as recently as this week that state that the IB at LF was NOT a neutral site game.

How is not a neutral site game when the tix were split evenly? I went to many, many IB's at Legion and one half was orange and blue and the other crimson and white...This was just AU's perspective since Bryant whipped AU's arse many years reeling nine straight in the 70's and Bama played a couple of home games every year there.....we may have been contarctually obligated to play the game but we didn't have to go to JH....as one poster said, it was Dye's attempt to gain recruiting, presitige, revenue, etc. etc......but there was no reason why Bama ever should have acquiesed to that....no reason to do anything to legitimize AU any further by playing at JH and we should have told them to shove it. My thought at the time was to tell AU to Frick Off....and if they want to quit, sue then let them.....

AU acted like bitches about the neutral site and threatened to quit, sue or whatever....just like way back in 1907.

Which is exactly why AU wanted to get out of a neutral site game, particularly at Legion Field becuase of all the arse whippings you got handed there during the Bryant era. There was no way AU could ever catch up without a home field advantage.

There is nothing wrong with that but lets not ignore the obvious.
