LSU game traditional band song issues

Before the "keep it classy" message from LSU admins came out this week, I was unaware that LSU had traditional songs and chants at games. So, I decided to do some research in to what these chants were.
Apparently each chant has 2 parts: monotonous grumblings (ha ha ha ha or ooooooooo) and then scream expletives (STTDB). Now I remember when I was in middle school and got really jazzed up about yelling out curse words, but I was over it by the time I was 15. I was surprised to see how cut up your fans were that this opportunity to yell out expletives in sync is going away, but to each their own.
Odell says "keep it classy"
Way to go students, you got another song banned
My questions:
1. Do you think these chants are good for LSU as a whole?
2. Do these band changes lessen your excitement for LSU football games?
3. Given the nature of these chants, do you still perform them when you're getting beat?

i say ditch the chants, grab our nads, sway too and fro, and yell 'whoop' from now on. seems much cooler and a much better way to get chicks!
whoooop!
whoooop!

frick no. I think that chants and songs at a football game really affect the academics. Specifically the Bachelor of Science area. They really took a big hit last year because of these chants and songs. If the student section doesn't cool it, we're probably going to see some major cuts in this department.

Gosh, we somehow forgot to add your name to the memo. What were we thinking?

I'm surprised you haven't asked what the racist Rice chant was. A LSU alum from the late 60s shared that one with me.
As someone in that thread said, the students have always been crass and somewhat vulgar.
Maybe it's somewhat worse now but I think it has more to do with TV mics picking it up and broadcasting it. Otherwise, who cares what the students say if other students are the only ones who can really hear it.
I went to LSU games in the 80s as a kid and never knew the cheers had completely different lines until I attended LSU as a student (in the student section) in the early/mid 90s. From the South End Zone in the 80s, it was a completely different experience.

If you think they cried about losing their chance to shout STTDB you should have seen they fit they had a few years back when they said no smoking in Tiger Stadium.

For the record I was (briefly) by LSU's band and fan section when they came to BDS, and I heard them play "All of the lights".
I also heard people chant STTDB too.
