Friend of mine from Lincoln sent me this late last night. First I've heard of it. Bama fans, anyone hear anything about this?

Your friend needs better sources. Nebraska is not going to make a play for Jim Tressel. No one is as a HC. He's got another 2 years remaining on his show cause. His next job is likely in administration.
Chris Peterson can - and if he wants to, will - do a lot better than Nebraska.
The only legit name on that list that Nebraska could get would be Kirby, but he has zero ties to the Midwest. His ideal HC coaching job is in the Southeast.
Besides, why in the world would Kirby take the NU job when everyone knows Saban is going to Texas the day after Bama's bowl game and Kirby gets the HC job at Bama?

Probably would be a good hire for them, but I see them going for a spread guy next. They are not in fertile recruiting grounds, and it is easier to compete with lesser athletes using a HUNH or spread offense than a traditional pro style offense.
