I think that Saban could recruit better talent to SC than Spurrier has. Yes, we have had some top notch players, but not near at the level that Alabama, Florida, LSU, or Georgia has. Spurrier has turned 3-star recruits into studs since day one like Sidney Rice, Ko Simpson, DJ Swearinger, Devin Taylor, etc who are all currently in the NFL. However, we have only landed three 5-star recruits in 9 years that I can remember. Lattimore, Clowney, and Chris Culliver. Bama gets three-plus each year, and I think that has a lot to do with Saban's recruiting ability. The thing that sets Saban apart is that he not only lands the great recruits, but he knows how to motivate and develop them.

He could and would win anywhere, especially within a big conference....just that good.
