I don't know. Steve Spurrier is no slouch, and he's been there long enough to get it done if he had the "magical" touch.
I think there's a reason that national championships are almost always won by traditional powers, and not only because of poll bias. It's damn hard to build a program into a very top level elite competitor.
Do you say yes because you think Nick Saban would be able to recruit insane levels of talent to South Carolina the way he did at LSU and Alabama? Or do you think he would be able to turn that very good talent at South Carolina into elite?
