Thanks for the link.
I don't consider multiple Barry Switzer stories originating from the same quote; nor a bunch of bloggers (who happened to be bent during the preseason/September) to be valid data points.
But I'm sure there are a few folks who've fallen for that stuff.
I'll refrain from linking a story or two from people who think he's a pretty decent QB. Something tells me you're not interested.
In the end, we'll all see soon enough whether or not anyone (i.e., any voter) thinks he deserves the trophy.

116,000 links and you refuse to believe. hey. I am NOT a Manziel hater...nor do I love him. He is a great college QB, that might become a great NFL QB. If he wins, you can bet he deserves it. I just think they will try to keep him from winning.
It's nothing personal against him or A&M.

Here is the Heisman Mission Statement:
quote:

The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work. The Heisman Trophy Trust ensures the continuation and integrity of this award. The Trust, furthermore, has a charitable mission to support amateur athletics and to provide greater opportunities to the youth of our country. Our goal through these charitable endeavors is for the Heisman Trophy to symbolize the fostering of a sense of community responsibility and service to our youth, especially those disadvantaged or afflicted. All assets of the Trust beyond the expense of maintaining the annual presentation of the Heisman Memorial Trophy are reserved for such charitable causes. The Trustees, who all serve pro bono, are guided by a devotion to college football and are committed to community service and the valued tradition which the Trophy represents.

JFF's integrity is certainly questionable considering his off the field actions and the fact that he's already profited off his celebrity status with the autograph brokers, along with other off-field behavior which is well known and with behavior which is not well known (appetite for nose candy).

Baylor's Brice Petty has a higher QB rating, has thrown for only 1 int all year and has no losses. JFF on the other hand has 2 home losses where his decision making on the field was a major contribution to both losses.
