Auburn had the talent last year. They had no coaching. I think this is the best staff Auburn has ever had. The issue with Auburn is they are too one dimensional. They have no balance on offense. They will not beat Bama running the ball 90% of the time in a read-option set. Bama will eat that up and force Marshall to throw the ball. Can't see him beating Bama doing that.

But what if we actually can throw the ball well also?

Don't pretend to know whether we can or can't. No one knows because we haven't had to. Even our coaches do not know.

We may find out (yea or nea) though and it may be in 3 days when we find out. Or in 2 weeks. Depends on UGA's D.

I personally think we find out a lot this weekend.

Auburn is a solid team. They are not the 2010 team but I think next year they have the potential to be that good. Jeremy Johnson is going to be one hell of a starting QB.

The game is at Jordan Hare and Malzhan is going to call some creative trick plays so those two things concern me.

I am really interested to see how they play against Georgia. Georgia is going to force Marshall to throw. I am trying to reserve final judgment on them until the Georgia Game.

Since Marshall has not had to throw the ball and they have handily won with the running game why haven't they tried it more? I mean when they are blowing an opponent out just for practice in a game situation?

I have seen Marshall throw the ball enough this year to know that he is an average passer at best. Bama has always focused on taking away what a team does the best so I am pretty sure Auburn will find tough sledding trying to run. If you can't run you typically can't throw. Just look back at the recent LSU game. Bama shuts their run down and then LSU had to throw. And this I know... Zach M. is a much better passer than Marshall and has two NFL ready receievers. They didn't fair very well in the second half. Why? They could not run the ball. Pretty simple.

Not that simple.

1. Our run game is better than LSU. Bama may slow it down, but it will still make plays and be a bigger threat than LSU's so we won't have to rely on the pass like LSU did.

2. Our Oline is better than LSU's. We will protect Marshall better.

3. Just because you shut down a very predictable power I running game in LSU does not mean the same results against what is almost a wishbone attack on the ground. In fact I think the last option team saban faced went for about 300 yards on the ground and it was some small school that wasn't any good a year or two ago.

4. Again, you know nothing about Marshall's passing ability or AU's passing ability. You say you have seen enough to know, but you don't KNOW shite and that is a fact.

Bama is better on offense, defense, special teams, and in the coaching dept. The Hare will be empty by mid fourth quarter.

Every bounce went Auburn's way in that game

Yea man the refs totally giving you a TD after Fairley sacked McElroy on 3rd down was really in our favor. As was the muffed punt which the only reason you even lucked into a FG in the second half.

that's probably the best team in Auburn's history.

The bouncing fumble that went 20 yards in a straight line?

So our defensive lineman running down your RB a causing a fumble is just bad luck on alabama's part?

Or the one that laid on the ground at our offensive lineman's feet that was so close to him he couldn't see it.

Your OL being unable to block Fairley and your QB failing to secure the ball is just bad luck?

Mark Barron hurting his arm

That's cute.

Face it, Auburn was the 2nd best team on the field that day.

Somebody turned the game off after the 1st quarter.

Sorry some of your fans are still upset over it. Glad to see it though, no matter how many titles you back into 2010 will always eat at some of you.

Went back and looked at the last thirty threads started by Alabama fans. Literally two of them were about Auburn. Others dealt with them indirectly, but were also about other teams and their coaches. Most Alabama threads were about McCarron for Heisman, Nick Saban, Alabama running backs, and LSU.

You've been caught in a lie. The only obsession here is your obsession that Alabama fans acknowledge Auburn as a team that Alabama should worry about. That's just not going to happen.

You're still playing into Alabama's strength. Our defense is built to stop the run and is #1 in the conference and #5 nationally in that department. We will slow you down and we will stop you every now and then. It's just a given.

Auburn averaged 318 yds a game rushing in 2010, they're averaging 320 this year. Alabama held them to 108 yards in 2010. Difference was, besides Bama's mistakes, was that $Cameron Knewton could pass. Auburn is currently 108th in the FBS in passing, out of 123 teams. This AU team isn't nearly as good as their 2010 team, and this Bama team is much better than their 2010 team.
