You don't need a master's to coach imo.
Just find a job somewhere coaching...even as an assistant, and work your way up.
A good coaching job will only come with the success you have on the court, not how high your degree is.

Bingo.
Delta, me and you should become the head coaches at our schools and have an annual rivalry. I'd beat that arse.

no i agree with that 100%..i was just saying for the initial hire how much would it benefit me as opposed to just a bachelor's degree

It wouldn't benefit you enough in a coaching career to make up for the cost of that degree.
If you're not in some type of engineering, law, or medical type of field (or similar related fields to these) then a masters is not worth it.

yeah, find a D-1AA school and be a graduate assistant there. You may have to pay for the school if you dont get a scholly but it will most likely pay a stipend and you will get to be a really good coach.
unless you only want to do HS. I would say that yes, you should get your masters. The extra salary will make it worth your while

..do you think its worth me getting my masters degree in order to help me land a teaching/coaching job?
While I'm not in your same situation, I would say yes. Many of the people I do know who have gone the teaching/coaching route are getting their masters, because in the long run it will definitely be worth the investment. Plus, there are tons of places you can get a masters 100% online, so you could take classes and whatnot on your own time after you get home for the day.
