I'll just say he earned his firing.
He recruits great and his players, like Mo Williams, can play hard.

However he does a terrible job with 'on the court' coaching or x's and o's. Even worse, he will run his team into a buzzsaw and not change plays while his players are getting creamed.

Clemson ran Bama out of their own gym the last time I went to a Gottfried at bama home game. Basically realized he didn't have the horses and stopped calling play changes. Literally gave up with more than 10 minutes left in the game as I remember it. I could be biased I suppose.
