Some Alabama fans seem to think the Heisman is a award for winning the most games so AJ should win. They fail to understand the Heisman is for the most outstanding player in college football, so let's look at the facts. He is the current season stats for AJ and JFF. With AJ not having to win games by himself you would think surely his comp % and QB rating is better but not the case and also AJ has had 5 games with less than 200 yards passing.

JFF AJ

Yards passing 3313 2041

Pass TD 31 19

Comp. % 73.0 69.4

Rush yards 611 -22

Rush TD 8 0

QB Rating 186.9 169.1

Total TD 39 19

We could compare AJ to Clowney or to Derrick Thomas if we want to.

AJ isn't trying to be Manziel.

Some commentator on Saturday made an interesting comment as to Aj and the Heisman.

He had to make a play against A&M to win...since then he has not HAd to make plays for Bama to win.

JFF has to make plays, Winston has to make plays...AJ doesn't. Bama is still undefeated, most likely with another QB. That is not a shot at Aj, more so an applause at the rest of the team adn the coaches.

The Heisman isn't a career achievement award. IMO, McCarron isn't a Heisman candidate if he played on any other team.. The same can't be said for Manziel.

I think AJ has done a great job in Saban's system. He will probably do better than GMac on the next level. The guy has 2 rings and in line for a third. Heisman isn't his, but he has so much more to hang his hat on. Much respect to the kid.

Is anyone even suggesting AJ over JFF?

I have not noticed it and would laugh if people are.

Umm most Bama fans think JFF should win, but that AJ deserves some recognition for his accomplishments.

Who knows what AJ's #'s would have looked like if we threw the ball 40 times Saturday instead of 20.

I haven't really seen any Alabama fans saying AJ should win the Heisman, if they do they're clearly incorrect. However, if Alabama finishes undefeated he'll likely be acknowledged with a trip to New York.

the most outstanding player

glad you mentioned this.

Bamas most "outstanding " play Saturday night was probably a 6 yard run on a fake punt.

"outstanding " not always = stats.

How many games would Alabama have won this year without AJ McCarron "managing" the game? No one could have taken his place and accomplished what he has this year. Alabama has won consistently because of his talent, leadership and experience. No player has meant any more to any team. He absolutely deserves the Heisman.

Everyone knows JFF is the best player in CFB. Yeah people will talk about how good JFF is and will always remember him as being one of the best players of all time but AJ will be remembered as the QB that led arguably the best dynasty in the history of CFB. While JFF is unique and does things that no other QB has ever done, Jameis Winston has already taken some of the popularity away and is the new "Chosen One" in terms of the media. No one will ever take AJs glory if he wins the title again this year. He will stand alone forever.

It will come down to what have you done lately. Mariotta is done, JFF won't win it again over an undefeated McCarron. Winston could win it.

AJ gets a little momentum late and he can win. I think AJ has a better chance than Ingram did at this point in the season.

I thinks CNS said it best when he said AJ was the best QB. Does what is asked and has delivered year in, year out.

Would Bama be going after BCS NC #4 if AJ was not the qb?

Yeah I know AJ has a great supporting cast and all...but so does JFF. JFF has been bailed out several times by his WR's when JFF would throw passes up for grabs. AJ, not so much.

Besides TAMU has to score points because their D cannot shut down anyone. Hell even a team full of Stevie Wonders could score against TAMU.

AJ doesn't deserve the Heisman based on stats alone...also, throw in the fact that he has a much better supporting cast and has inferior stats makes him on the outside looking in.
