Teams have built programs around a star player/QB the Atlanta Falcons sure did and Warren Sapp showed us exactly why that is a fallacy never to be revisited.
You should recruit players to run a particular offense or scheme of play. Cam Newton is the exception to the rule of thumb and anybody who could go back and see his incredible growth and potential would undoubtedly have recruited him with vigor.

No. I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying you don't change your system based off one player. We would not have changed our system with Cam back there. We may have put in more plays where he was given more of an option but not redesigned our offense.
I feel like I keep having the same conversation with you and you prove over and over that you have no idea how football works at more than just the base level.
