TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — From the press box on the west side of Bryant-Denny Stadium it started slow.

A few seconds later, the movement was obvious.

The packed stadium was swaying along with the music in the fourth quarter of Alabama's 38-17 win over LSU on Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide had just stopped LSU on fourth down up 14 with 9:10 to play. With CBS taking another TV timeout and "Dixieland Delight" playing at full volume, the shaking began.

It was amazing! You could even hear the shakers swishing.

I believe we passed Saban's crowd test.

It was fun!

so LSU and Alabama are in the elite "Made The Earth Shake" club

print the shirts!

"As the Crystal Palace Shook"
or
"The Night You Actually Heard the Shakers"

No, and neither did you.

Back in the damn 60s or whatever, I'm sure that these ancient structures would tremble a good bit. But BDS is a frickin masterpiece that was finished what..like 7 or 8 years ago? There is no way on this earth that people yelling would cause that structure to sway.

Nah, but I was on the. 15th row in the lower bowl.

It was definitely the loudest I've ever heard BDS, and my ears are still ringing.

I was there, didn't feel it sway, but I was going a little nuts having the most fun I've had in a while. It was awesome.

Back in the 80s Carolina fans made the East Upper sway so much (engineers said up to 44 inches) that Joe Morrison coined the phrase, "if it ain't swayin' we ain't playin'".

We had to have engineers add extra bracing in '87 because the bleachers would move so much that fans would topple over.

I'm pretty sure if you google it, you'll find videos.
