The biggest problem with tigerboard, ironically, is that its format doesn't lend itself to having any kind of decent or meaningful discussion about sports. Its a place for one liners where everyone strives to be a comedian or a troll.

Nick is being held in place by a very long time vocal minority that resit any form of change of format. The problem is while he appeases that long term minority he is alienating potential new posters who are turned off by the late 90's forum tech and the content of clowns comedians and trolls.

I enjoy the clowning around but if it cant be had in moderation mixed in with legitimate discourse about the athletics it will fade away, which it is currently. That is a shame because Tigerboard is/was an institution on the internet for Mizzou athletics.

Nick is being held up by the fact that you have to load the ads on each page every time you read a post.

The format sucks for sports discussion, but it's great for ad views and accidental clicks. The Shack is fun too.

Lack of discussion is key. I've been wanting to do post mortem writeups on games, but if I post it to tigerboard it will be off the front page in a matter of minutes. Now that I've found SECRant, I'm finishing one up on the Mizzou vs Tennessee game that I'll post here later today.
