Let's Talk about the Offensive Line of Alabama

Early in the season, this seemed to be an area of concern for the Tide. How much has the offensive line progressed through the season? Have they been adequately tested yet this season? Not that Alabama has any weaknesses, but could this be an area of concern for Alabama fans Saturday night?

They've had 2 bad games - Va Tech and Colorado State. They manhandled Arkansas and Tennessee.

Ole Miss, imo, had a pretty good def line to test them. I'm pleased with their progress and they've given up less hits and sacks on AJ than last yrs line did. Will be interested in the C position, as Kelly is back and Lindsey did an outstanding job in his absence.

Their DBs are the weakness to exploit. Trust me....

This. They've gelled somewhat over the past view weeks. Additionally, they've played about 8 different guys in NON-garbage time. They've had about 10 different guys get PT. I believe they've had 7 different starters. It has evolved into less of a concern, but LSU will present a challenge, for sure.

Impressed by the number of O Linemen who have gotten significant reps for us. They def have improved since the start of the year

Yeah, Mettenberger burned their CBs last year over and over again. I only hope the O-line can protect him long enough so he can do it again. If the LSU O-line can contain bama's pass rush, then LSU will have no problem scoring on offense. Bama's Secondary is no match for Beckham and Landry. Thats the match-up LSU has to be able to exploit continuously to win the game.

I think the key is LSU's OL.
This is the Number one matchup.
If they can hold we have a nail biter. If not could be ugly.

If LSU's D-line can play as well as Colorado state's D-line did against Bama, then LSU has a chance.

Something clicked in the second half of the Ole Miss game, right around the time Chad Lindsay came in oddly enough. They have been great since then. shite competition will do that also.

The position to watch is Center. Ryan Kelly can get overpowered sometimes and an injury caused him to be replaced by Eric Cartman, err, Chad Lindsay. Lindsay really provided a spark to the run game. He doesn't get overpowered, but he does get the occasional holdin penalty. Kelly seemed to have won back the starting role, but its unclear so far.
Also watch the RT spot. Sometimes (tFr)Grant Hill comes in for (Sr)Austin Shephard. Neither one of those guys will make anyone forget about DJ Fluker.

I don't think the DL of A&M even touched AJ's jersey all day either. Dude looked like he had been playing 7 on 7 at the end of the game.
The Bama OL is much improved since the beginning of the year and even though Manziel/Evans torched their DB's no one else has. They have only given up some garbage time TD's since then and not many of those.
I would be shocked if LSU can score 20 and I would be shocked if LSU can hold Bama under 30. Thus I am predicting 35-14.
