They only have one decent win (barely) this season over an A&M team that is terrible with two good players. shite, A&M lost to Auburn who got arse reamed by an average LSU team. Hell the LSU fans left at halftime because the game vs. Auburn was over after 30 minutes.

Even if Bama wins this week, it proves nothing because LSU lost to fricking Ole Miss.

At least FSU has taken TWO top 10 teams to the woodshed. Bama hasn't done anything up until this point and going by their own logic does not pass the eye test like FSU has done repeatedly this season.

So why is Bama ranked #1? Preseason rankings again or something different?

They are #1 until proven otherwise

Because the people who vote in the polls perceive Bama as #1

Decline so deep that LSU has gone straight into lil bro mode cutting off their nose to spite their face. Gotta love it!

Two time defending champions, 3 of the last 4. If they go unbeaten, you can't NOT let them defend the title.

Human element of polls. Tend to rank previous champions #1 until proven otherwise. Not the best system, but it's the one we have.

I don't know. Ask whiny bitch FSU homer and ESPN commentator Danny Kinnell the same thing.

Does that mean that A&M will plummet in the computer rankings on the 24th because they beat a shitty LSU team?

Miami won't be ranked after they lose to Virginia Tech and Duke (will have 7-wins when they play Miami...whodathunk?) in consecutive weeks.

Clemson won't be in the top 10 after they Clemson it up against South Carolina again.

Of course, some of it is starting #1 and beating everyone they've played. If I voted, I'd be tempted to put FSU at #1 right now but that could also change if Alabama wins out since they have a harder schedule down the stretch.

However, your post clearly spins the quality of FSU's Miami win. Clemson blowout is the most impressive of any team this year but at A&M is a better W than Miami by any margin. Ole Miss 25-0 is as around as impressive as the Miami W for FSU.

Miami isn't in the top 10. Nor should they have been. Needed last minute TDs against freakin Wake Forest and North Carolina (both just awful, awful teams) to win.

ETA - Bama is the two time defending champions and you cannot definitively say they are not the best team in the country. Therefore, they should be no.1

Why is losing to Ole Miss considered a bad loss?

They're obviously a Top 20 team in terms of quality. Yeah I understand they were undermanned against LSU and are young, but they beat a decent Texas team 44-23 in Austin. Their only losses are by 1 score @Auburn and by 3 to A&M in a game that could've gone either way.

Bama's 25-0 win over Ole Miss is only going to get better. Wouldn't be at all surprised if they finish 9-3.

They don't start the ranking at #0.
