Here are a few more years. Typically 1 top 5 team and at least 1 top 15 team as well. 2001, 4 of the 6 teams were in the top 25 (two in the top 5).

2008
1 Florida (7-1) (13-1)
13 Georgia (6-2) (10-3)
-- Vanderbilt (4-4) (7-6)
-- South Carolina (4-4) (7-6)
-- Tennessee (3-5) (5-7)
-- Kentucky (2-6) (7-6)

2007
2 Georgia (6-2) (10-4)
12 Tennessee (6-2) (11-2)
13 Florida (5-3) (9-4)
-- South Carolina (3-5) (6-6)
-- Kentucky (3-5) (8-5)
-- Vanderbilt (2-6) 5-7)

2006
1 Florida (7-1) (13-1)
25 Tennessee (5-3) (9-4)
23 Georgia (4-4) (9-4)
-- Kentucky (4-4) (8-5)
-- South Carolina (3-5) (8-5)
-- Vanderbilt (1-7) (4-8)

Probably the stongest year for the East

2001
4 Tennessee (7-1) (11-2)
3 Florida (6-2) (10-2)
13 South Carolina (5-3) (9-3)
22 Georgia (5-3) (8-4)
-- Kentucky (1-7) (2-9)
-- Vanderbilt (0-8) (2-9)

I would agree with you completely and with the poster who said the East has been down for several years. No doubt, traditionally this is far from the standard for the East and no doubt it will be strong again. My point was geared more to the excuse that Mizzou is only doing well bc the East is down this year. Over the last 5 years, only 2012 has had a stronger division than we have this year. The only difference is that its Mizzou and SC that are taking advantage instead of more traditional powers. Yet, when you compare them nationally, they are representing the conference just as well as Georgia, Florida, and Tennesee have recently.
